Prayer Shawl Ministry
The members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry gather monthly and create shawls independently on their own schedules throughout the year. Each person in the Prayer Shawl ministry creates prayer shawls by hand, praying for the recipients throughout the entire shawl-making process. Once a prayer shawl has been completed, the whole congregation joins in a prayer of blessing for the newly-finished shawl and its future recipient.
These shawls may be given to anyone, whether a part of our faith community or not, who would benefit from a tangible representation of love, support, care and prayer. Typically, the recipient has experienced a loss, serious illness, or life change. Shawls may be given for celebrations, too.
Most of our members knit or crochet, but prayer shawls can be made using any fiber art. We welcome new members interested in this rewarding ministry!
