Listening Hearts
Each Wednesday a group of parishioners and guests who are dealing with loss in their lives come together to share their experiences and to study and pray. All who need a close loving group are invited.
Listening Hearts meets every Wednesday morning at 10:00AM in the Guild Room. The purpose of the group is to provide a peaceful, comforting, safe and holy place among loving and accepting friends and to share feelings that are on our hearts in a confidential setting. We also explore how God speaks to us. The meetings are regularly attended by 10 to 12 people. The group offers Christian support to one another through reading of scripture, poetry and books followed by discussion.
The Listening Hearts group sponsors the Altar of Repose for All Souls and All Saints days. It also sponsors the Longest Night service in Advent and the Holy Innocents services during Christmas. The group provides a strong support system at St. Cross. The most often used self description of the group is family. The group welcomes all, male and female, who wish to share their feelings.
