Why Church? Why St. Cross?
I hope you didn't miss the Senior Sermons last Sunday. If you did, I encourage you to go back and watch them via Facebook, YouTube or on our website. Adam and Ben Tittle and Kevin Sanchez did an amazing job representing most of our graduating high school seniors. What was evident in each person's sermon was the common theme of how St. Cross formed them in their spirituality, gave them a safe place to grow up, and a community of friends and mentors like no other.
Someone stopped me in the parish hall at coffee hour to gush about how amazing those three young gentlemen were. They went on to point out that these sermons remind us of how important our work with our youth is every single Sunday. My reply to this person was, "I completely agree. And it is why I am so passionate about legacy giving. I want us to continue to be a thriving community for generations to come." To do so, just as we have relied on the generations before us to establish a congregation, build a church and education building, renovate to improve our plant, our generation, ALL of us attending St. Cross right now can help our future generations by including St. Cross in their will, trust, or with a life insurance policy. Yes, I am both concerned and hopeful about making sure St. Cross has the resources it needs to continue to do ministry in the South Bay for generations to come.
If you care about our ministry today, I invite you to help us sustain our ministry in the future. To learn more about leaving a gift ot St. Cross, please talk to me or Malinda Difley.
Again, congratulations to the graduates. We, St. Cross are so very, very proud of you.
Peace,
Rachel+
