Who are the ministers of the Church?
In the Episcopal Church, ministers include bishops, priests, and deacons. Bishops have the highest order and are responsible for the oversight of multiple congregations within a geographical area known as a diocese. Rectors/Priests lead individual congregations, presiding over worship services and providing pastoral care. Deacons often focus on outreach and service within the community. Although the St Cross vestry are not ministers of the church, they are a group of lay members elected by the congregation to assist the clergy in governing the affairs of St Cross.
