When Can I Use the Why?

By now we anticipate each of you has a deeper understanding of the evolution of St. Cross’ WHY statement. With that knowledge, it is the hope of the Vestry that everyone is able to utilize the WHY in their daily lives. But first, let’s try and commit it to memory once again:
To be a community which serves others as a sign of God’s love.
The Vestry truly believes that this statement can be applied to all of the ministries that we at St. Cross hold dear, but also, as the WHY says, in our greater communities as well. We ask that you think of this statement of collective purpose during prayer or before pledging. We also believe the WHY can be applied in a very powerful way in each of our lives outside of St. Cross.
It has been said that St. Cross is an outward facing congregation. Let’s use the WHY to continue that benevolent tradition of looking outside of ourselves as we serve others as a sign of God’s love.
