Vestry Candidate: Lizabeth Thompson
I would like to serve on the St. Cross Vestry because: I am a life-long St. Cross member and would be honored to serve on the vestry. Serving is the opportunity for me to become more actively involved with the church and its members at a different level. I bring years of experience understanding the behind-the-scenes work of St. Cross. Along with that experience, I will bring my enthusiasm and ideas for ongoing ministries as well as future ministries.
In my life’s work, I am/have been particularly good at these skills: To the Vestry, I will bring my background in education, which has instilled in me a passion for lifelong learning, love and acceptance of all people, and the ability to openly and effectively communicate with others. As a previous business owner, I also have an in-depth knowledge of accounts payable and receivables.
Other skills that I have which could be valuable on the Vestry:
- Building consensus
- Patience
- Ability to listen
Special hobbies/interests which I enjoy:
- Volunteering for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
- Meditation and spiritual development
- Solving number puzzles.
The area of ministry that interests me most is:
- St. Cross youth.
- Lay Eucharistic Ministers
- Lay Eucharistic Visitors
