Upcoming Events at St. Cross
Our busy fall continues at St. Cross. God’s love can shine through the busyness of life.
This weekend, we as a community, gather to witness and bless the marriage of our rector, Rev Dr Rachel Nyback and Chad Druten. It will be a lovely and joyful service and celebration.
In addition to the wedding, next weekend we have four baptisms and a funeral. We also have some big community events over the next two weeks. This Sunday there is a big family event: the Trunk or Treat, haunted house, blessing of costumes and pumpkin painting after the 10am service. Next weekend there’s a big musical event, with the concert performance of John Rutter’s Requiem by the St Cross Choir and Orchestra.
If you include the Confirmations, Bishop’s visit, pet blessings and consecration Sunday from earlier this month, you might have bingo on your Episcopal bingo card!
Each of these big events will draw crowds of people–old friends and new faces as well. In the midst of all the joyful busyness, I encourage you to be sure to greet someone you don’t know. Be intentional to seek out a person who looks new, needs help, or needs a friend, and make sure they feel the warm welcome of St. Cross. Make sure each new face feels the love of God here. Not only through the services and celebrations we have planned, but also through your personal warm welcome.
