Sunday School Kicks Off!
Sunday School | Sept. 12, 9:30-10:30am
In-person Sunday School begins this weekend! With Sunday School in-person, we've made some changes to our normal format in an effort to keep children and families safe and to make it a little easier to get to church on Sunday morning. Please review the info below.
First, Sunday School will be one hour from 9:30am to 10:30am. With the church service beginning at 10am, the children and youth will spend the first half of the service in Sunday School and join their families in the service just before Communion. Between 9:30am-10am parents are welcome to join other parishioners in the Garth for an outdoor Coffee Hour (we'll provide the donuts, you bring your own coffee!), read a newspaper, nap in your car, etc.. Whatever you do with that half hour before church, we ask that parents please remain on campus while your children are in class.
Sunday School classes for our younger children (those who have been unable to receive the vaccine) will be held outside. Pop-up tents and overhangs will create outdoor classrooms. Rev. Stephen will be outside the Education Wing Sunday morning directing your children where to go depending on their age. Masks will be required at all times for both children and Sunday School teachers.
If you cannot attend in-person, we have the ability to Zoom children in virtually. If your child is going to attend Sunday School virtually, please let Rev. Stephen know at least two days in advance so he can coordinate with our teachers and you.
Thanks for your patience and flexibility as we return to in-person Sunday School. These changes are temporary for the first couple of months. We will make changes as needed. When other ministries begin to return (acolytes, nursery, robust 9am coffee hour) it will make sense to return to the 9am Sunday School start time.
Sunday School Registration and Photo Release Form
Linked here is a Sunday School Registration and Photo Release Form. There will also be hard copies on hand that you can fill out on Sunday morning when you drop your child off for Sunday School. Either way, please make sure to fill it out and return it to Rev. Stephen or drop it in the church office.
Many thanks,
Stephen
