Readers for Life
Do you like to read? Do you like to discuss what you read? You might want to check out Readers for Life. Our group has been meeting for twenty years but it may be something of a St. Cross secret. We don’t mean to be secretive, we are really a very friendly lot, but we don’t seem to be known. And we would like to be. So this is what we do: We read one book a month and get together to eat, laugh, and discuss. Yes, eat. We begin with a true pot-luck–no assignments. Then we discuss, sometimes a little loudly, but never raucously. Did I say we are friendly?
We meet in Room 4, usually on the third Friday of the month, at 6:00 in the evening.
Our books for the next three months are:
April 19 Do I Stay Christian? by Brian McLaren
May 17 Black Cake by Chrmaine Wilkerson
June 21 Poet Warrior by Joy Harjo
