Kicking off Advent and the Holiday Season at St. Cross
We have had a delightfully busy fall season and here we are at Advent. You all know how much I love the "Slow Down It Is Advent" posters as it is so easy to get caught up in all of the "things" of the season. THAT said, we have plenty of faithful things where you can engage and we hope you will.
Giving Tree still has many families and children that have not been adopted. Please stop by the stage before or after church to sign up to help families in need at this time.
The Messiah is this Sunday at 4pm and you don't want to miss it. As Rev. Josh has mentioned, the Messiah was used to help get people out of debtor's prison when it debuted and then was gifted to a hospital to help them continue to raise money. To that end, after we have enjoyed the orchestra and our wonderful choir, there will be a reception where local charities will also have tables set up where you can gather more information to help those in need around the South Bay.
The following week is the Advent Fair. We will have various vendors in the parish hall, all with items you can use to buy local as you find gifts for your loved ones.
The Pageant is the third week of Advent. Pink angels, drummer boys, the Holy Family, angels, shepherds and kings will all be there. As always, it is the event you don't want to miss.
In the midst of all the holiday hustle and bustle, most of all we hope you find moments of peace and light as you prepare your heart and home for the coming of the Christ child.
Almost Advent Blessings,
Rev. Rachel+
