John McBane | St. Cross Episcopal Church

I would like to serve on the St. Cross Vestry because: I would like to contribute to St. Cross in a meaningful way and am interested in doing more volunteer work.

In my life’s work, I am/have been particularly good at these skills:I have focused on being a “generalist.” I hope this has helped me with broad perspectives. I am good at keeping priorities and following up. I believe I am fairly good at communicating within difficult situations.

Other skills that I have which could be valuable on the Vestry: I have done quite a bit of contract work… not a lawyer, but have worked extensively in contract establishment and management. I have extensive management experience and believe I have an ability to assessing ability.

Special hobbies/interests which I enjoy: My wife and I have been fairly busy raising our family for the last ~25 years, and getting back into interests. We are avid skiers in the winters and enjoy hiking in summer. I greatly enjoy reading, primarily historical figures and events. Just finished a book on Churchill. I enjoy sports. I have a few teams, but primarily enjoy watching the athleticism.

The area of ministry that interests me most is: Outreach and men’s bible study/men’s group.
