General Convention 2024
For the next 10 days I will be in Louisville KY for the General Convention of the Episcopal Church.
In all there will be over 4,000 representatives from 7,098 churches across 22 countries, meeting to worship and pray together and to discern the vision and future of the church, as well as elect a new Presiding Bishop. I will be serving as one of four clergy deputies from the diocese of Los Angeles. I will also be serving as the chair of the deputization. Which means I will be in charge of gathering out deputation to discuss important legislation, will turn in diocesan votes when necessary (we only vote as a bloc when called for, otherwise we vote individually), and will switch out deputies when we need to use an alternate.
You can watch the worship live online here: (But remember, all times are KY time zones)
If you have not had the opportunity to do so, I encourage you to learn about the candidates for Presiding Bishop. Each candidate has a lot to offer to the whole church, even if they don't become the next Presiding Bishop. Watch their videos. These are some of the voices guiding the church into the next age."

If you are interested in the role of Presiding Bishop and how the selection process works, read these essays put out by the committee."

I ask that you keep me in your prayers, as well as the candidates, all of the voting members of the convention, and the church at large.
Peace,
