Endowment Fund Grants
Christian stewardship involves faithful management of the blessings God has given us, including financial resources.
Thanks to the generosity of parishioners who have remembered St. Cross in their wills or made gifts specifically to our endowment funds, this year we were able to award $13,574 in grants from our Mission Endowment Fund. The grants included: $1,500 of scholarships to St. Cross’ high school seniors for college tuition; $1,500 to a local organization that operates sports, education and leadership programs in Darfur; $500 to an organization that makes fleece blankets and sends care packages to U.S. troops overseas; $500 to a local group that promotes peace in our local and global community; about $3,000 to a local organization that holds a summer theater camp for economically disadvantaged students; $1,500 to a local Lutheran church to support a summer STEM camp for K-8 students; and $4,000 to Camp Stevens for much-needed technology upgrades. Also, from our General Endowment Fund, we were able to award over $8,000 to help pay for landscaping upgrades at St. Cross.
