Discipleship, Restoration, Growth
As we come out of the Omicron surge, churches near and far continue to ask "What next?" Those churches that experienced growth either during the heart of the pandemic or as we have started to come out, have had that growth come from members new the community. While these churches kept their current members connected, they found ways to welcome in new people.
To that end, as the new 2022 Vestry went on retreat to St. Cross last weekend. Knowing that our mission is "to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ" (BCP 855), our question was "HOW?" Through prayer and working together we are focusing on discipleship, restoration and growth. We know we cannot go back to where we were. There is no "normal" but we are coming into a "new normal." Live will be changed, but God, God's love, and God's community is still with us. We have so much hope for what we can accomplish to restore our faith to one another and the wider South Bay.
I have one request. Pray. Pray for our Vestry, Staff and Clergy. Pray for pathways to be opened so we can reach new people. Pray for connections to be made so we can extend our gifts to the wider community. Pray that we will continue to nurture one another, not just in our daily life, but in our spiritual life too. Pray.
See you Sunday (online or in person),
