Choral Evensong Sunday at 5 PM - Habitat Build - Youth Outing - Halloween and More!
Choral Evensong with Healing Prayer on Sunday, October 20 at 5 PM: The Chancel Choir of St. Cross Episcopal Church and the Hermosa Beach Chapter of the Order of St. Luke welcome all to St. Cross for a service of Evensong with hymns, Taizé, and healing prayer. This meditative, contemplative service offers respite for the soul, a calming spirit, and the opportunity to light votive candles. Free-will offerings support St. Cross’s music ministry. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
TRUNK OR TREAT! Sunday, October 27th, 3-5 PM: Put on your Halloween costume and join us for the 2nd annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat! Children and youth are invited to trick-or-treat at different, themed car trunks in the inner parking lot. We'd love for families and St. Cross parishioners to decorate their car trunks and pass out candy. If you're willing to decorate your trunk for the festivities, please let me know. Here are some ideas to get the creative juices flowing. There will also be a bounce house, cotton candy, and other spooky activities!
THIS SATURDAY THE 19th! Habitat for Humanity Build: There is a Habitat for Humanity build on Saturday, October 19th. We need builders, help with food and also your prayers. AS OF TODAY (10/17) THERE ARE STILL 3 SPOTS LEFT FOR BUILDERS. You can sign up at this address: stcross.org/h4h/
Rite 13 and J2A Youth Outing - Saturday, October 19, 5-8 PM: Youth in the Rite 13 and J2A classes are invited to join us for an Escape Room outing. Please bring $10 to help cover the cost for the Escape Room and also money for dinner after. We'll plan to meet in the St. Cross parking lot and carpool over. Please RSVP to me if your teenager will be joining for the fun. Attached is a permission form you can fill out and return to me the day of. We plan to offer an outing for the older youth next month.
