Annual Meeting This Sunday!
I am well aware that the LAST thing anyone deeply desires is another zoom meeting, especially at 11:30 am on Sunday morning (isn't that brunch time?). Like you, I long for the days when we could gather in the church or the parish hall after the service, everyone with their coffee (tea, cocoa) and a donut to discuss the business of the church. Yet, this year we will have our annual meeting online again. This will allow the maximum number of people to attend and participate.
Annual meetings ARE more exciting than watching paint dry, but may not be up there with a day at Disneyland. Yet the work of the annual meeting is important. This is YOUR church. Our governance and structure requires us to participate at least once a year in the business side. It keeps your Vestry accountable. It keeps the rector, clergy and staff accountable. It is a time for us to hear from one another, ask questions, pray together for the year to come and even to dream together.
Please set aside 11:30-12:30 on Sunday and join us. We have some compelling news to share along with voting for representatives to several positions for the year to come. We also get to review the budget so you can see where your pledge is bring about our part of God's dream in Hermosa Beach and beyond.
FRIDAY an email with be sent with all of the important information for how to log on, the annual report, candidates for positions and more. If you attend the annual meeting you will also be given the link for the new, updated directory! But the only way to get that is to attend the meeting this Sunday.
